hello friends and family,
well i hope you all are enjoying the nearing holiday season. it's been a little tough for me to get used to being in costa rica around this season. though the weather has gotten cooler, not many people put christmas lights up and costa rican's don't celebrate thanksgiving. though some might get sick of christmas music 24/7 in the US, i'd love to have a radio station with none-stop-christmas because there is none here! i did see an advertisement for a christmas play today though! here in costa rica, many people so to the beach for christmas or spend time with family making tamales. it's times like these that i remember how different our cultures are. the big thing is making your own traditions. i'm trying to figure out how to embrace a new culture, without loosing my own at the same time. it's a great opportunity to share where I've come from with where I am!
