boy, there are no excuses for the amount of time I have NOT written a blog! i've just plain forgotten!

Things have been great lately. I just got back from a retreat with one of my disciples so that we could spend some quality time with the Lord. It was a great opportunity to breathe and allow God to speak. It was a beautiful view from our little tiny cabin!
Other news, we recently had a yard sale in the Precario neighborhood to raise money for our little womens group. We had a great time together and will use the money to go on a retreat as well. It will be a great opportunity for these ladies to spend a moment in SILENCE before the Lord, something that's almost impossible in their neighborhood. We're working with the ladies to figure out what their needs are and how we can capacitate them with job training to sell things out of their houses. They could really use the extra income when it's hard to put food on the table.
At the moment, I'm in the US for a best friends wedding, spending a few days with my family before I head back this week. I've been in culture shock...Things that I've missed...
-large houses
-big salads
-less traffic
-family and friends
-fans
-carpet
-natural peanut butter
-chocolate chip cookies
-GREAT water pressure
-toilets that work
-giant apples
-internet
-my mom scratching my back :)
-wonderful paved roads and cars with great suspension
-lots of windows
-CHOICES...almost overwhelming....yes, overwhelming.
All that to say, I'm looking forward to heading back to Costa Rica soon because I feel like I left right in the middle of everything...I miss my ladies group and I'm grateful for this little retreat to the states. But I'll miss my friends and family soon enough, so I'm going to get off and spend TIME WITH THEM!!
