manuel

last night in our leadership Bible study, we had the door open like always and in walks this young guy. tattoos up and down his arms, 2 piercings, and obviously drunk and high. we welcomed him in and he began to tell us about how he had just almost overdosed on cocaine and that God had pulled him out of it. he told us about how he knew the bible backwards and forwards, but that satan had gotten ahold of him a while back and now there is no turning back.

we tried to encourage him, but he seemed pretty down. It was really neat because we were studying about other religions and how most other religions you have to gain your God's approval. And, though our Christ wants us to obey, there is nothing we can do to earn His love...Just like Manuel, whom God loves infinitely, though he has some struggles he will need to leave to Christ in his life. We hope he felt God's love as we tried to love him well...

We also were talking in the group tonight about how Christ would continually see people, have compassion on them, and either say something to them or give them his hand. It was great to see scripture in action, us trying to love Manuel tonight like Christ would. Pray for him.
