school´s in session

This year I´ve kicked my discipleship with Gerlynn to full blast. Last year, we would try to meet with each other every week, but often had conflicts that caused us to miss. This year we´ve started with a bang and have been hanging out as much as possible. My hope is that Jesus will rubb off on her as we live life together and as we study together.

Gerlynn is one of 7 kids in a single mother household. I took her to buy notebooks today because she´s been missing school, because the money couldn´t be stretched to buy her what she needed for school. She picked her favorites, and we headed to McDonald´s because she had never been. I´m really not a fan of the place, but I think it´s something she should at least experience since so many billion people do!

We talked about Psalms. I gave her a Bible a while back and she´s BEEN READING IT ON HER OWN. She´s 12 years old. I´m inspired by her spirit to not give up...the more we hang out, the more she opens up, little by little, so I can understand her world just a little more...I´m just excited this week she will GO TO SCHOOL! It´s amazing how $14 of school supplies can change someone´s life!
