como

Hello again,
Greetings from an internet cafe that smells like arroz y frijoles (beans and rice) and makes me hungry! As I try to navigate this Spanish keyboard, the confusion pretty much describes my daily life..haha. Everyday I find myself trying to understand more and more about the language, daily life, and language, but que? and como? seem to be how I get by some days (what?) Today went great, but it was super crazy in the Precario. The precario, where I work most of the time, is basically a squatter area where it is underdeveloped and overpopulated. The children that come to Kids Club are often one of MANY children in a family and need attention and love. Not to speak badly of their families, but sometimes making money to feed your family takes up more time than you want. Today, lotsa kids came and we taught them about Moses and the burning bush. It was chaos so we talked later how to be more organized and I hope for the best in the future. We also feed the kiddos breakfast, bread and a banana. Its very important to get some food in our little friends because some wouldnt have any in their house that morning. Im trying to get used to being around kids that climb on you like monkeys. Its been a while since Ive been consistently around kids so I had to get used to boogers and bananas all over me. The things we do for the Lord! haha Theyre precious kids, even if they did almost pull my skirt off today...

next time...pants.

adios!

Now you know how I felt when you were a toddler. Remember throwing your snotty tissues at me across the seat of the car when you were finished with them. Pay back.
