Directly after returning from a great time with my mom, Chino and I started helping with a small term missions group from New Mexico. We've been helping with this little church plant in San Pedro, and we're prayerfully seeking God to see if we will begin to work with this church on a more regular basis. It was an action packed week with our new friends from New Mexico.
The group helped serve a local woman's shelter by painting, providing gifts for the women, and a Bible study.
In the middle of the week, we helped with a youth outreach event at the skating rink. It was super fun and free to the kids at the high school next door to the church. I met this really fun youth named Kelly and hope to become better friends with her. She is recent to the San Jose and confided in me a lot about her life. I hope we can continue to grow as friends and show her Christ.
About 300 youth came to enjoy skating and we invited to learn more about Christ.
My lovely husband helped with the message and also got to meet some neat kids. He is also praying about dedicating more time to this youth group in San Pedro.
Last but not least, we are currently trying to save money for the visa and support raising trip to the states so last week we moved to Heredia, another province of Costa Rica right outside of San Jose. We're excited about saving the money for the states and happy to be living in an environment with other missionaries on the property. God has been watching over us with a close eye and we're forever thankful...3 crazy weeks, right!?!
