end of the year...let's party

PICKING my favorite photos from the Christmas party at church, how could I not start with this photo:) At church, everyone sponsored a child with a present and their families came to hear more about Christ and celebrate Christmas. It was a great blessing for these families from a marginal community here in Costa Rica.

The youth of this church ROCK! They come early to help and are always ready to lend a hand with whatever we need. God is forming something special in these youth. It's incredible to see and to be an active part of their lives.

This party was such a blessing for these kids. When your family doesn't have a lot of resources for Christmastime, you can imagine their excitement for presents, a clown, games, food, candy, and a little about the Christmas story...

Denise, the pastor's wife, working hard in the kitchen. We worked hard to make it a special day and God was glorified.

Face painting was also a hit!

Seeing the joy and pure excitement in these kiddos faces reminded me of how great God is to give us such joy and fun in life this side of heaven. I made me think about Jesus as a kiddo. What games did he play? What made him laugh? Did he pick his nose?! What a blessing to have such a personal, human but holy, perfect Savior! Joy to the world...He's born that we might live...
