Hey everyone! Here are some pictures from a couple of weeks ago! We've been busy with a short-term missions group that came from New Mexico to help the church out. The photo above was a Mother's Day event at the church.
I have a new found respect for these ladies and catering services in general. I helped in the stressful kitchen, trying to prepare the food in time and make sure it would be enough. What a difficult job! I'm grateful for being able to help but also grateful the stress is over!! :)
Melissa is a friend from New Mexico and was part of this group. Part of their work during their week in Costa Rica was helping at an orphanage. The children were invited to the church for the mother's day event and a relationship was formed. The pastor hopes to continue bringing the youth to the orphanage and continue developing the friendship in Christ.
On their day off, we went to the beach with the group and needless to say, Checito, our dog, wasn't too thrilled about the waves...
On the way home, we did something very American:) We went to the FIRST Starbucks in Costa Rica. It just opened and it was PACKED.
The coffee was okay but I've had better in other places..Belen, visiting from Merida, Mexico, joined me in the expedition.
Finally, the group did an outreach event for the neighborhood around the church, inviting children and their parents.
The kids had a great time and we even had some new youth show up from the roller skating outreach we had earlier in the week.
We had a great time with this group and hope they can come back next year!
