my life without internet part 2

So things have been great lately...for Easter we talked about a price we cannot pay. We gave the kids shoes that my parents brought down from the states to demonstrate our point. We acted out a drama scene where one girl gives another girl a gift of shoes. She then say she wants the money for the shoes, but ends up giving her the shoes for free because she loves her friend. I really think the kids understood that they couldnt pay us back for the shoes just like we cannot pay God for our salvation....Not to mention, they LOVED THE SHOES!

This last week was Semana Santa or Holy Week. It's a national holiday week where everyone has time off of work. Most people visit family or go to the beach. This Semana Santa, my roomate and I went to Rio Frio. The owner's of our house we rent have a house out in the woods and we stayed for a couple of days...Che, my dog, had the most fun of all. He was scared of the water at first, but ended up conquering all of his fears, even taking on a BULL...he's still with us, thank GOD!
As much of a "retreat" as it was, it was intense as well because it ended up being 13 of us in all with all of the family members....
There were no screens on the windows so I'm a little itchy still!

We played rummy for change, betting 10 colones every hand...they play for blood!! haha

We had a great conversation with Don Gilbert, our landlord. His son lost his leg in a motorcycle accident last year and Gilbert has been struggling in his faith ever sense. It just so happened that a friend of ours had a really bad burn accident while we were at Rio Frio and we had to come home early. We got to talk to Gilbert about suffering and how God uses suffering, a topic that many many struggle with. God was good to give us this gift which we weren't expecting and glorified himself in a tough circumstance.

Other neat stuff going on...
I'm headed to Nicaragua on Thursday to renew my passport for a couple of days!

I'm discipling a new girl named Kristal!!!! Thank you for your prayers

THANK YOU to all my new supporters this past month. I was shocked at God's faithfulness and all of your givingness!!!!!!!!!!
